President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has announced the creation of the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development.
Tinubu made this known on Tuesday when he inaugurated the Presidential Committee on Livestock Reforms at the Council Chamber in the State House in Abuja.
A committee has been established, chaired by the President and co-chaired by Attahiru Jega, former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), with the mandate to promote peaceful coexistence between herders and farmers.
The committee’s primary objective is to develop recommendations that ensure national security, economic prosperity, and harmonious relationships among all Nigerians, addressing the ongoing herder-farmer conflicts and fostering a more unified and prosperous society.
