Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has officially ended the work-from-home initiative for public servants, signaling the return of all civil servants to their offices by March 31, 2025.

This decision comes after the implementation of a new minimum wage and welfare improvements designed to boost productivity in the public sector.

The announcement was made through a circular issued by the Head of Service, Bode Agoro, who emphasized the need for civil servants to recommit to their duties and improve service delivery across various ministries, departments, and agencies.

Agoro said, “The work-from-home initiative, which began in February 2024, was initially introduced as a flexible work arrangement. However, with this latest directive, all remote work privileges are revoked, and employees are required to resume full physical attendance in their offices.”

He further stated that accounting officers across various MDAs (Ministries, Departments, and Agencies) have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with the governor’s directive.

The government reaffirmed its dedication to a performance-driven and hands-on civil service, with Agoro adding, “The era of remote work is officially over.”
