Plateau state governor, Simon Bako Lalong, has sacked the State Executive Council less than 24 hours to his swearing-in for a second term in office.
A statement issued and signed by the Acting Secretary to the State Government, Richard Tokma, stated that the dissolution takes effect from the midnight of 28th May and also include Special Advisers, Legislative Liaisons, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, and local government Liaison Officers.
The statement noted that the dissolution also affects Chairmen and members of Commissions, Boards and Parastatals except statutory commissions specified in the constitution. It, however, stated that the Attorney General is to remain in office pending the reconstitution of a new State Executive Council.
The governor appreciated the appointees for their contributions and wished them well in their future endeavors.
