Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila has been elected as the Speaker of the House of Representatives for the Ninth Assembly.
Mr Gbajabiamila who is the preferred candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) defeated his close contender Mohammed Bago with 281 votes.
A total of 358 lawmakers voted, 76 voted for Mr Bago, while there was an invalid vote.
