Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has charged the state Head of Service and Permanent Secretaries to carry every worker along by giving them schedule of responsibilities to justify their. employment.
Buni gave the charge on Tuesday while swearing-in nine newly-appointed permanent secretaries into the state civil service.
He said, “As you are aware, this administration recently employed over 2,600 degree graduates, diploma and NCE holders to fill-in the vacant positions in the state civil service to enhance productivity.
“I charge the office of the Head of Service and the Permanent Secretaries to promote schedule of responsibilities, giving every worker a duty to justify their employment and the resources expended as wages on civil servants,” he charged.
According to him, this will give workers in the state a sense of belonging and involvement, as well as check cases of idleness and absenteeism, to promote vibrancy and productivity.
He enjoined the new permanent secretaries to be good team players and to work harmoniously with their commissioners, directors and other staff of their respective ministries and departments for the attainment of set targets for maximum results.
“You are to display a high level of loyalty, sacrifice and diligence to the machinery of governance in the service of Yobe State,” he urged.
The newly sworn-in permanent secretaries are: Alhaji Modu, Umar Aji Suleiman, Abdulmumin Mamman, Tsoho Rabiu Garba and Sani Mohammed Sama’ila
Others are: Zainab Mohammed Ago, Yusuf Hassan Yusuf, Bukar Aji Bukar and Baba Kachallah Geidam. All of them have been deployed to ministries, departments and agencies in the state.
