Benue State Governor, Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, on Wednesday received the debriefing and presentation of the National Gas Expansion Program (NGEP) report, a key initiative aimed at transforming Nigeria’s energy sector.
Dr. Emmanuel Chenge, the Chairman of the Benue State NGEP Committee, presented the report to the governor, accompanied by other distinguished members of the committee. The session was also attended by Prof. M.M. Ibrahim, Chairman of the Presidential Initiative, and the state’s Project Advisors.
The NGEP, spearheaded by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is designed to promote the use of cleaner energy alternatives and encourage sustainable economic growth across the country.
Governor Alia emphasized Benue’s commitment to fully implementing the NGEP’s objectives. He noted, “In Benue State, we are determined to leverage the National Gas Expansion Program to foster industrialization, create job opportunities, and build a sustainable and energy-efficient future for our people.”
He further lauded the efforts of the NGEP Committee and all stakeholders involved in the project, stating, “I commend the tireless work of the NGEP committee and all those who have contributed to this important initiative.”
