The Kano State Government has awarded a N20 billion contract for the construction of two key township roads, aimed at enhancing transportation and stimulating economic activities within the state.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday, the Commissioner for Works and Housing, Marwan Ahmed, revealed that N13.3 billion would be spent on the construction of the Rogo-Bari-Falgore-Mahangi Roads in Rogo Local Government Area, while N6.9 billion would go towards building the Panda-Hamdullahi-Albasu-Salkwayan Dutse Roads in Albasu LGA.

“These roads have been prioritized due to their economic and social importance in improving the quality of life for the people in these two council areas,” Ahmed said.

He further explained that the new roads would ease transportation, improve driving experiences, and facilitate business activities, particularly by enhancing the movement of goods from farms to markets. This development, he added, will have a significant positive impact on the local economy.

“Upon completion, these roads will boost the local economy by improving the ease of movement and opening up new opportunities for businesses and residents,” Ahmed noted.

The government’s investment is expected to transform the region’s infrastructure and provide long-term benefits to its inhabitants.
