The discussions centered on strengthening collaboration in infrastructural development, highlighting a new era of economic partnership. Governor Okpebholo emphasized the shared history and mutual interests between the two regions, noting that Edo State’s role in the fight against Apartheid has set the foundation for future growth.

“We recognize the common interests and opportunities for growth in trade, business, and investment,” said Governor Okpebholo. “Edo played a role in the fight against Apartheid, and now, we look forward to a strong economic partnership that will drive development and prosperity for our people.”

Ambassador Dr. Bobby Moroe reaffirmed South Africa’s interest in Edo State’s infrastructural potential, recognizing it as a key partner in driving industrial and urban development.

“South Africa has identified Edo as a state with vast infrastructural potential, and we are fully committed to fostering this partnership to bring meaningful progress,” Moroe remarked. “We are excited about the possibilities this collaboration holds for both our nations.”

Governor Okpebholo’s administration remains open to investments and collaborations that will accelerate industrial growth, urban renewal, and overall economic development in the state.

The partnership marks the beginning of a promising phase for both Edo State and South Africa as they work toward enhancing trade and business ties that will benefit both regions.
