In a strategic move to enhance tourism in the region, the Rivers State Government has officially transferred control of the Port Harcourt Tourist Beach to Landmark Group.

This follows a signed memorandum of understanding aimed at transforming the beach into a world-class tourism destination.

Hon. Dr. Israel Ngbuelo, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, praised Governor Sir Dr. Siminalaye Fubara for his commitment to fostering cultural and tourism investments. “Governor Fubara’s vision to enhance Rivers State’s tourism potential will not only create job opportunities but will also position the state as a leading tourism hub in Nigeria,” Ngbuelo said during the handover ceremony.

Engr. Emeka Njuku, a representative of Landmark Group, expressed gratitude to the state leadership and assured that the group would deliver state-of-the-art tourist facilities. “We are committed to bringing innovative leisure experiences to Port Harcourt, contributing to the growth of Rivers State’s tourism industry,” Njuku stated.

The project is expected to attract global visitors, boost local employment, and increase revenue, reinforcing the state’s position as a prime tourist destination in West Africa.
