Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has declared next Monday a public holiday in celebration of his swearing-in ceremony.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, the governor explained that the holiday will provide residents of the state the opportunity to partake in the inauguration events. “This will allow our people to fully participate in the inauguration activities of myself and my deputy, Olayide Adelami,” Aiyedatiwa said.

The inauguration week began with a Jumat Service at the Akure Central Mosque on Friday, followed by a Church Thanksgiving Service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Jesus House, Oke-Ijebu, Akure, on Sunday.

The highlight of the inauguration will be the swearing-in ceremony of the governor and his deputy, which is scheduled to take place at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure, on Monday.

“We are excited to have everyone join us for this historic moment,” Aiyedatiwa added. Following the ceremony, a gala night and book presentation will be held at the International Centre for Culture & Events (The Dome) in Akure.

In related news, the governor has lifted the usual restriction on movement during the Saturday environmental sanitation exercise. “While there will be no restriction of movement on Saturday, I urge residents to still clean their environment,” Aiyedatiwa emphasized.
