Ahead of the 2025 Anambra State Governorship election, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has announced that its primary election will take place on April 5, 2025, at the Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, Anambra State.
In a statement signed by the party’s National Organizing Secretary, Mr. Ifeanyi Mbaeri, APGA revealed that the sale of the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms will begin on February 28, 2025, and will end on March 20, 2025. The Expression of Interest form will cost N5 million, while the Nomination form is set at N25 million, totaling N30 million for interested candidates.
Mbaeri further explained that female aspirants and those with physical disabilities will be offered a 5% discount on the forms. He noted that the leadership of APGA retains the right to adjust the schedule if necessary.
“The process will climax on April 5 with a special state Congress and governorship primary to be held at Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka,” Mbaeri said. “We remain committed to a transparent and inclusive process in line with the party’s constitution and the INEC timetable.”
The primary election will be crucial in determining APGA’s candidate for the upcoming gubernatorial race, scheduled for November 8, 2025.
