Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed several establishments across the state for violating environmental laws, targeting noise pollution and illegal gas refilling sites. Hotels, religious centers, factories, and gas plants were affected in a widespread enforcement operation on February 27, 2025.

Establishments like Home Guest House, Feel at Home, and Pholar Suites, as well as churches such as Assemblies of God and Redeemed Christian Church of God, were all shut down. Gas plants, including Chibuzor Gas and Dolax Gas, were also sealed for operating in residential zones. The crackdown also extended to lounges, bars, and warehouses in areas like Surulere, Agege, and Festac Town.

LASEPA’s General Manager, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, emphasized the need for the operation, stating, “Environmental infractions, including noise pollution and the illegal placement of gas refilling plants, endanger lives and disrupt public peace.” He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to ensuring compliance with the state’s environmental regulations. “Our enforcement efforts are aimed at restoring order and ensuring compliance with the state’s environmental regulations,” he added.

LASEPA’s operations will continue as part of their zero-tolerance policy for environmental violations.
