Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has committed to enhancing security measures to protect the state’s citizens, particularly in border areas, due to increasing security threats.
At a closed-door meeting of the State Security Council held at the Executive Chamber of the Government House in Bauchi, Governor Mohammed expressed concern over the growing security issues in the border communities, attributing them to the influx of migrants from neighboring states, which have contributed to heightened security risks.
He emphasized, “The security heads should beef up security in areas facing security threats across the state.” The governor also called for increased preparation as the state prepares to host its first-ever investment summit.
Mohammed praised the state’s security officials for their dedication, noting their crucial role in maintaining peace in Bauchi.
Additionally, he acknowledged the support of the traditional rulers, who attended the meeting, and called for further collaboration to ensure the well-being of the state’s residents.
For the first time, the six emirs of Bauchi, Katagum, Misau, Jama’are, Ningi, and Dass joined the meeting alongside security heads, underscoring the importance of unity in tackling the state’s security challenges.
