The Bauchi State government has declared a five-week school closure, aligning with the 2025 Ramadan fasting period.
This closure, which spans from March 1 to April 5, 2025, is part of the state’s approved school calendar for the 2024-2025 academic session.
All public and private schools, including primary, secondary, and higher institutions, are affected.
The Ministry of Education’s Information Officer, Mr. Jalaludeen Maina, emphasized that the holiday was planned well in advance.
However, some parents have expressed concerns about the impact on their children’s educational progress. Mrs. Sunita Joseph questioned the length of the break, while others like Mohammed Isa urged the government to focus on initiatives that would reduce the number of out-of-school children in the state.
