Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is set to unveil the Demurin Road in Kosofe Local Government Area today, alongside two other major roads in the Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area. These roads—Agidi and Church Street—are expected to enhance connectivity in the area.
According to a statement by the state’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, the Governor emphasized that the initiative was aimed at “boosting connectivity and making life more comfortable for our people.”
The roads will serve as important alternative links to the 3rd Axial Road with Ikorodu Road.
The Demurin-Agidi Road, in particular, is a vital artery connecting densely populated areas like Ketu and linking them to major markets, including Mile 12 Market and the Owode Onirin Auto Parts Market.
Omotoso highlighted the significance of the rehabilitation, noting that the deterioration of the Demurin-Agidi Road had caused traffic congestion and hardship for commuters.
“Given the strategic economic importance of these roads, the administration of Mr. Sanwo-Olu and the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, approved the total rehabilitation and upgrade of the roads to a standard that will stand the test of time,” Omotosostated.
