Nigeria Congratulates Ghana on 68th Independence Anniversary

The Federal Government of Nigeria has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Republic of Ghana as it celebrates its 68th Independence Anniversary.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nigeria recognized Ghana’s remarkable progress since gaining independence in 1957, highlighting its strengthening democracy, economic growth, and promotion of peace within the West African region.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, conveyed Nigeria’s best wishes to Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Samuel Ablakwa.

“As Ghana marks 68 years of freedom and self-determination, Nigeria joins the host of friendly nations in celebrating the remarkable achievements made by Ghana,” the statement reads.

The statement also underscored the long-standing friendship between the two countries, emphasizing shared history, cultural ties, and a mutual vision for a prosperous, united Africa.

Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to deepening cooperation in key areas such as trade, education, security, and regional integration.

Both nations, as part of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the African Union’s Agenda 2063, remain focused on tackling regional challenges together. The Federal Government also wished Ghana continued success and prosperity in the future.
