The Kwara State Government has initiated plans to convert the International Aviation College in Ilorin into a full-fledged aerospace university.
Dr. Mary Arinde, the state’s Commissioner for Tertiary Education, emphasized that the move aligns with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s commitment to advancing education in specialized fields.
“This proposed transformation is a bold step towards positioning Nigeria as a major player in the global aviation and aerospace industry,” said Arinde.
The Federal Ministry of Aviation’s visiting panel, led by Mallam Lawal Ibrahim, has commended the state’s vision, with assurances of a fair assessment of the project.
Capt. Okatahi Yakubu, the Rector of the Aviation College, expressed gratitude to the governor for his foresight in the college’s upgrade.
