The Federal Government has announced Monday, March 31 and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as public holidays in celebration of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo extended heartfelt congratulations to Muslims across the nation for successfully completing their fasting during Ramadan.

“I congratulate all Muslims for the successful completion of the fasting in the holy month of Ramadan,” Tunji-Ojo said.

Tunji-Ojo urged Nigerians to use the occasion for reflection and prayer, emphasizing the values of compassion, generosity, and unity.

“Embrace the virtues of self-discipline, compassion, generosity, and peace. It’s important to foster love, forgiveness, and solidarity to build a harmonious society,” he added.

The minister also highlighted the significance of kindness during the festive period, calling on Nigerians to remember the less privileged through acts of charity. “Celebrate safely and responsibly, remembering the less privileged in keeping with the true spirit of Ramadan and Eid.”

Tunji-Ojo ended his statement by wishing all Muslim faithful a joyous Eid Mubarak, praying that the season brings happiness, success, and fulfillment to everyone.
