Abia State government, Monday took delivery of fourth container medical equipment worth over $400,000 (more than two hundred million Naira) for the State Mother And Child Specialist Hospital.
This is in addition to the two full containers of medical equipment for the hospital which came as a donation from Dr Jackson in Denver Colorado, USA as an offshoot of the collaboration between the State Government and Abians in the diaspora.
Disclosing this in a Facebook post, the Ag. Executive Secretary for Abia Diaspora Commission, Dr. (Mrs.) Ngozi Ogbonna-Erondu said this particular container had many equipments and supplies which will be used in the Mother-Child Specialist Hospital and other Hospital in Abia State.
It was gathered that Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu in his avowed commitment in the health sector ensured that these containers were delivered despite challenges of the customs in Lagos.
Recall that Governor Ikpeazu had while inspecting the level of work at the hospital, assured that the Mother and Child Hospital which is at its final stage of completion will be commissioned and made ready for service to Abians soon.
