The Akwa Ibom state government is set to commission the MIMSHAC-MERKAVIM Automobile Plant in the first quarter of 2022.
The plant which was one of the top projects Governor Emmanuel Udom highlighted when he took office in 2015 will create jobs for the people when it finally kicks off by May 29, 2022.
Udom and some members of his cabinet visited the Assembly Plant at Ikot Ukap, Itu Local Government Area of the state on Friday.
According to Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Economic Development and Ibom Deep Seaport, Mr. Akan Okon, who spoke to journalists following the Governor’s visit, arrangement was underway for not less than twenty youths from the state to embark on a six week training in Israel for technology transfer.
The training will equip the youths in all things automobile assembling.
