Chief Jude Ezenwafor has been officially selected as the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) flag-bearer for the November 2025 governorship election.

Ezenwafor, an Abuja-based real estate developer, was the sole candidate in the PDP primary, receiving unanimous support from 853 delegates across the 21 local government areas of the state at a primary held on Tuesday in Awka.

“I thank all the delegates for the massive support and their endorsement. We are going to work hard to ensure the party wins the governorship election,” Ezenwafor said in his acceptance speech.

In contrast, Valentine Ozigbo, who contested the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary, has vehemently rejected the outcome of the party’s election.

Ozigbo, a former PDP governorship candidate, claimed that the APC primary held at the same Dora Akunyili Centre was marred by fraud, irregularities, and lack of transparency.

Nicholas Ukachukwu emerged as the winner of the APC primary with 1,455 votes, while Ozigbo received only 67 votes.

Ozigbo has filed a formal petition before the APC Governorship Primary Appeals Committee, calling the process a “charade” and a “theft against Ndi Anambra.” He alleged that the delegate list was infiltrated by non-party members and that genuine party members were excluded or prevented from voting.

“This is not just about me. It is about the soul of our democracy,” Ozigbo stated, vowing to continue the fight for integrity within the APC.

Ozigbo, who recently joined the APC after leaving the PDP, had purchased the party’s N50 million nomination form. His petition is expected to trigger further scrutiny of the APC primary process.
