In preparation for the November 8, 2025 Anambra State governorship election, three major political parties have selected their candidates.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has secured the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ticket, while Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu will represent the All Progressives Congress (APC), and George Moughalu is the Labour Party (LP) candidate.

Soludo, who ran unopposed, was nominated by over 3,000 delegates during APGA’s primary at the Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka. “Anambra is APGA and APGA is Anambra,” he declared in his acceptance speech, promising to continue his commitment to the state’s progress.

Ukachukwu emerged as the APC flag-bearer after a chaotic primary, defeating Valentine Ozigbo with a decisive victory. He praised the transparent election process, saying, “I call on my fellow contestants to unite and rally around my candidacy.”

Meanwhile, Moughalu clinched the LP ticket with a commanding lead in his primary, thanking the party for providing a fair contest. “Anambra is blessed and we must ensure a level playing field to harness its potential for the good of the state,” he emphasized.

The PDP has delayed its primary until April 8.
