Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has expressed unwavering confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC), despite recent coalition talks among opposition parties gearing up for the 2027 general elections.
At a recent event marking the signing of an agreement for a nationwide digital membership registration initiative, Uzodimma emphasized that APC is not intimidated by the opposition’s maneuvers.
“We are not afraid of what the opposition will say,” Uzodimma stated. He added, “Our duty is to organize our party to be respected all over the world. We are expecting elections, and APC is not a party built on a platform that expects no contest.”
The new digital registration system is aimed at modernizing party operations, ensuring better data management, and enhancing the accuracy of the party’s membership list for future electoral processes.
Uzodimma’s remarks come amid closed-door discussions between opposition leaders, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, as they strategize ahead of the 2027 elections. However, the governor stressed that the APC is well-prepared for any challenges.
“We are ready for whatever comes. Nigerians will ultimately decide the fate of political parties through democratic processes,” he added.
