Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to providing accessible, affordable and quality healthcare for residents.

Sanwo-Olu also stated that the government and private partnership is critical to delivering good governance.

The governor said this yesterday, September 3, 2019, during the commissioning of Maternal and Child Centre (MCC) and a 12-block classroom in Eti-Osa area of the state as part of the activities to mark his 100 days in office.

Sanwo-Olu said the Centre would be a building block to establishing a general hospital on the site. He, therefore, implored the community to take ownership of the healthcare and thanked them for donating the land that was used in building the facilities.

His wife, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, said: “This 110-bed facility, sitting on a four-floor edifice, will no doubt go a long way to bring about considerable improvement in the maternal and child health indices of Lagos State, and it is gratifying that it has been equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to ensure top-class health services for users.

“The completion and launch of this facility has further reinforced the commitment of the present administration of Governor Babajide Olusola Aduragbemi Sanwo-Olu to fully implement the promises made to Lagosians as captured in the six pillars of developmental agenda for the State otherwise known as the T.H.E.M.E.S agenda, which stands for Traffic Management and Transportation, Health and Environment, Education and Technology, Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy, Entertainment and Tourism as well as Security and Governance.”

Earlier, the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, said in terms of empowerment, the state government had aside N4 billion as a grant under the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) W-Initiative to empower more Lagosians with ingenious business ideas. “We have solemnly pledged to serve the good people of this state and we want to renew our commitment to advance the social and economic progress of the state and its people regardless of faith, social class, or origin of birth,” he said.
