The IBB Presidential Library was officially launched in Abuja on Thursday, marking a historic moment in Nigeria’s commitment to preserving its heritage and promoting education.
The event attracted a distinguished gathering of former heads of state, scholars, business leaders, and Niger State’s Farmer Governor, Dr. Mohammed Umaru Bago.
In an exclusive interview, Governor Bago emphasized the significance of the library, which will be located in Minna, Niger State’s capital. “The launch of the IBB Presidential Library is not just a milestone for Niger State, but for the entire nation and the world,” he stated.
Dr. Bago also paid tribute to the late Dr. Maryam Babangida, the former first lady, with the library named in her honor. “Naming the library after Dr. Maryam Babangida is a fitting tribute to her unwavering support for education and community development,” Bago explained.
“Her dedication to uplifting youth and fostering a culture of learning has inspired many, and this library is a testament to her enduring impact on Niger State and beyond.”
The Governor also shared his vision for the library’s role as a vibrant center for learning and innovation. “I am deeply grateful to all the distinguished guests who have committed to making this library a beacon of knowledge,” Bago added, reinforcing the collective dedication to creating a hub that will inspire future generations.
