Residents of Bella Vista Apartment Group in Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos, are voicing their frustrations over skyrocketing maintenance fees and poor service delivery.

Despite paying hefty amounts for upkeep, residents report unresolved issues, including unrefunded deposits from the previous service provider, Daleji, and malfunctioning amenities like elevators.

“The chairman guaranteed in writing that all deposits would be refunded within two to three months, but it has been more than nine months, and no refund has been made by Daleji,” a resident stated.

Residents are also concerned about safety, citing a recent elevator incident where one plunged from the 10th floor. With maintenance fees increasing by over 400% in the past nine months, the community is demanding transparency, accountability, and urgent improvements in service quality.

“We are paying over a million naira per apartment every month for maintenance, yet the services provided fail to meet the standard their payment implies,” said one frustrated tenant.
