Bauchi State’s Ministry of Education has confirmed that schools will reopen on Sunday, April 6, 2025, following a five-week closure for Ramadan.
In an official statement issued by the ministry’s Information and Public Relations Officer, Jalaludeen Usman, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Dr. Lawal Mohammed Rimin Zayam, emphasized the importance of adhering to the resumption date.
“Parents and guardians are advised to ensure their wards resume on the stipulated date to avoid any disruptions to their academic progress,” the statement read.
The closure, which began on March 1, sparked concerns from various religious groups and civil society organizations regarding its impact on the education system. Despite the criticisms, the government is focused on maintaining educational standards.
Additionally, the ministry plans to begin JAMB CBT training for sponsored students, helping them prepare for exams under the Bauchi State Government’s sponsorship program.
The commissioner reiterated the state’s commitment to education, stating, “As education remains a top priority for the Bauchi State Government under the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed, we are determined to ensure the success of all students.”
