Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State on Monday undertook an unscheduled visit to inspect facilities at the main Secretariat Complex.
The building located in Yenagoa houses state workers in the public service.
Governor Diri was received and conducted round by the Secretary to the State Government, Rt. Hon. Friday Konbowei Benson, and the Head of Service, Mrs. Biobelemoye Charles-Onyema.
He moved from one office to the other to assess the work environment of the civil servants and took note of the need to upgrade some of the facilities.
While at the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, in Annex 6 of the Secretariat, the governor directed the Commissioner, Surveyor Moses Teibowei, to ensure proper maintenance of the facilities and build a befitting restaurant for civil servants within the complex.
