The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered prominent Nigerian businessman, Oba Otudeko, to take a plea regarding charges filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in an alleged N30 billion loan fraud case.
Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke, who presided over the matter, stated on Monday that Otudeko must take his plea before the court can rule on an application challenging its jurisdiction over the case. The judge further adjourned the hearing to May 8.
EFCC filed a 13-count charge against Otudeko and three others, accusing them of involvement in the fraudulent loan scheme.
Details of the case will continue to unfold as the trial proceeds.
