The African Action Congress (AAC) has officially selected Chioma Ifemeludike as its candidate for the upcoming Anambra State governorship election, set for November 2025.
Ifemeludike, a native of Eziowele in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra, emerged as the party’s choice following a primary election. She will challenge the incumbent, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, and other contenders from rival parties.
During the event, AAC National Chairman, Comrade Omoyele Sowore, was represented by National Treasurer Dr. Sam Ajeigbe.
The election committee, led by Mr. Oshiokhe Ikpeminoghena, affirmed Ifemeludike’s qualification to run for office, highlighting her strong adherence to the party’s constitutional requirements.
In her acceptance speech, Ifemeludike expressed deep gratitude to her supporters, vowing not to betray the trust placed in her. “I promise to empower the people of Anambra, especially women, children, and youth, to become better citizens,” she declared.
The election was concluded with unanimous approval through an affirmation vote from party members, marking a significant step for Ifemeludike’s political career and her bid to shape the future of Anambra State.
