The CEO of Air Peace, Mr. Allen Onyema, has praised the state-of-the-art Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport in Ekiti State, calling it “one of the best in the world.”
Onyema, who landed at the airport in a Boeing 737 aircraft, described the facilities, including the runway, apron, and terminal, as “highly functional and aesthetically pleasing.”
“This is the first time a Boeing 737 will be coming to this airport, and as an aviator, I can categorically tell you this is one of the best airports in the world,” Onyema said after landing.
He emphasized that the airport is capable of handling even larger aircraft such as the Boeing 777, making it a strong contender for major aviation operations in Nigeria.
Onyema expressed his readiness to partner with the airport as soon as it begins commercial operations, adding that the airport could soon become a hub for both pilgrims and travelers in the country.
Air Vice Marshal Sunday Makinde, Technical Adviser to the Governor on the airport project, confirmed the airport’s readiness for large aircraft, noting that the seamless landing of the Boeing 737 was a clear indication of its operational capacity.
Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, the Commissioner for Information in Ekiti, described the airport project as transformative, highlighting its role in enhancing infrastructure development for economic growth and connectivity in the state.
