Lawyers in Ekiti State have condemned the increasing cases of violence, including domestic and emotional abuse, against men, calling for urgent intervention from the relevant authorities.
The Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Ado Ekiti Branch, organized a sensitization walk titled ‘Stop Violence Against Men’ to mark the start of their two-week activism against such abuse. The walk, which began at the Afe Babalola Bar Centre in Fajuyi, Ado Ekiti, saw lawyers urging men who face violence to speak out and seek help.
Dr. Taiwo Omidoyin, Chairman of the NBA, emphasized the importance of addressing this growing issue. He stated, “We are seeing more cases of violence against men in our society, and it is important that we take steps to support those affected. Our association has set up a special desk to assist men suffering from any form of violence, free of charge.”
The campaign aims to raise awareness and provide support for men experiencing abuse, encouraging them to reach out and report these incidents.
