Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has hit out at Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah over his reaction when he was substituted during his team’s Premier League 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
During the encounter, Salah was annoyed after being substituted by manager Jurgen Klopp in the 77th minute.
The Egyptian winger was replaced by youngster Ben Doak and appeared agitated and started ripping off his wrist tape on his way to the dugout.
Keane was not pleased with Salah’s reaction, saying during his post-match analysis (via Liverpool Echo): “You see him [Salah] off the pitch with his arms in the air – just sit down and shut up… it is fine if a player comes off like that, but don’t keep doing it on the bench.
“You have to take it. You can be upset, fine, but don’t drag it out. I have seen a lot more players that are better than Salah get taken off and they have been fine.”
