In a remarkable convergence of global leaders and changemakers, Lagos State

Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, was honored with the prestigious Le Prix De La Fondation award at the Crans Montana Forum 2024. The award, a recognition of his visionary leadership, was presented under the high patronage of HRH Prince Jean de Luxembourg.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr. Miguel Angel Moratinos, the High Representative of the United Nations for the Alliance of Civilizations, and Mr. Didier Reynders, the European Commissioner for Justice and the Rule of Law. Their participation underscored the significance of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s contributions to fostering unity and progress.

 

Ambassador Jean-Paul Carteron, founder of the esteemed Crans Montana Forum, lauded Governor Sanwo-Olu as “the most impressive speaker” at the June session in Brussels, which focused on the challenges facing Africa.

In his acceptance speech, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the pivotal role of Africa in shaping the future of the universe. He highlighted the continent’s energetic, young, and dynamic population, along with its abundant natural and mineral resources, as key drivers for change. “We, as leaders, have the solemn responsibility to deliver this change,” he asserted, acknowledging the weight of the task ahead.

Governor Sanwo-Olu’s social media reflected his pride and gratitude: “Today, I was presented with Le Prix De La Fondation award at the Crans Montana Forum. We are pleased…” His message conveyed a deep appreciation for the recognition and a renewed commitment to the people of Lagos State and the broader African continent.
