The Jigawa State Government has mandated that all female security personnel employed by private firms in the state wear hijabs while on duty.
The decision was announced by Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, Sagir Musa, following a State Executive Council meeting led by Governor Umar Namadi.
The directive applies to the 9,969 newly recruited security guards assigned to schools, hospitals, and government buildings. The government emphasized the move aims to foster inclusivity and allow women to uphold their religious and cultural values freely.
Sagir Musa explained the policy is expected to boost morale among female operatives and aligns with the administration’s commitment to promoting respectful and accommodating workplace practices.
