On Friday, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, launched an empowerment initiative in Nasarawa State, distributing household items to 500 women.

The items, which included deep freezers, gas cookers, power generators, and grinding machines, were part of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Initiative aimed at improving the lives of women and their families.

Represented by the wife of the Nasarawa State Governor, Hajiya Silifat Sule, the First Lady emphasized the importance of using the items to enhance lives, urging beneficiaries not to sell the items but to make the best use of them.

The event, which took place in Lafia, was praised for its role in supporting gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Hajiya Silifat Sule, also speaking on the occasion, thanked the First Lady for the initiative and appealed to women to utilize the items to improve their livelihoods. Mrs. Elsie Monde, Special Adviser on Women Affairs, further expressed appreciation for the collaboration in making the empowerment possible.

Beneficiaries like James Asheazi, a chef who received a six-burner gas cooker, and Apollonia Adamu, who was given a deep freezer, expressed their gratitude for the gesture, acknowledging the positive impact on their businesses and homes.

The event highlighted the Federal Government’s continued commitment to gender equality and the improvement of women’s lives across Nigeria.
