FirstBank Launches Digital Xperience Centre in Lekki

FirstBank has launched its fifth fully automated branch, the Digital Xperience Centre, located on Admiralty Way in Lekki, Lagos.

The new centre marks a major step towards revolutionizing banking in Nigeria, focusing on providing a seamless digital experience for customers.

During the launch, Segun Alebiosu, the Managing Director/CEO of FirstBank, emphasized that “the future of banking is digital” and the bank is prepared to meet the evolving needs of customers. He added, “This is just making it easier for customers to transact…imagine on a Sunday, you’ve lost your ATM card; you can come in, and in three minutes, you have another ATM card.”

The centre is part of FirstBank’s strategy to expand digital banking services and meet the growing demand for self-service. “In the next 10 years, how many people will go to the banking halls? The young ones today will only make use of their smartphones,” Alebiosu noted.

Abimbola Kunle-Ajayi, the Group Head of Branch Operations for Lagos and West, praised the centre’s efficiency, stating that tasks previously taking 15-20 minutes could now be completed in under two minutes. Security enhancements have also been added to ensure safe transactions.

Oluseyi Oyefeso, Executive Director for Retail Banking South, highlighted the customer-centric nature of the centre, stating, “It’s created specifically to meet the needs of our customers…come in, serve yourself, and be on your way.”
