The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has asserted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will serve out his two terms, from 2023 to 2031, despite concerns raised by former Kaduna state Governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai.

Ganduje spoke during a meeting with the Tinubu Northern Youth Forum at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja. He strongly refuted claims that Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 could be jeopardized by northern votes, emphasizing that the principle of power rotation between the North and South would remain intact.

“When a leader from the Northern part of this country was in office for 8 years, we advocated that the next President in our party should come from the south. And luckily enough, we worked very hard with the cooperation of Nigerians,” Ganduje stated.

He continued, “Our President has come from the South and is going, insh Allah, for a second term, 2027. And then after that, it will be the turn of the northern part of this country.”

Ganduje further praised Tinubu’s leadership, calling him a visionary reformer committed to sustainable national development. He noted that, “We are happy with his reforms because his reforms are absolutely necessary for the social and economic development of this country.”

Highlighting the progress made under Tinubu’s leadership, Ganduje affirmed that the reforms initiated by the President would continue to produce positive results, ensuring the success of the “Renewed Hope” agenda.
