The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has confidently declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, will both complete eight years in office.
Umahi made the statement during the launch of the second phase of the Kaduna-Abuja-Kano road project, where he described himself as a prophet, likening his declaration to divine assurance.
“I want to assure you, my dear governor, Uba Sani, that I’m also a prophet,” Umahi said. “It was only David in the Bible that was a prophet and a preacher, and God has told me that you will do eight years, and Bola Ahmed Tinubu will do eight years.”
He also addressed the recent opposition coalition formed by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and others, calling their approach “destructive” and lacking in substance.
“You have to provide alternatives to what you are criticizing. Talk is cheap and the work is very easy when you are not the one doing it,” Umahi stated. “I have never seen any opposition providing an alternative to anything.”
The former Ebonyi State governor further praised President Tinubu’s reforms and cited international endorsements as evidence of progress in Nigeria’s economy.
“The Nigerian financial issue is upgraded and the World Bank said so,” Umahi noted. “Nigeria is working and the worst is over. God is with us and he will take us to the promised land.”
The comment comes amid rising political tension, as opposition leaders including Atiku, Nasir El-Rufai, and other political heavyweights held a strategic meeting with former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna.
The coalition is reportedly aimed at unseating President Tinubu in the next general elections.
