Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has secured 30,000 free tickets for football fans ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier match between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Zimbabwe’s Warriors on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

In a statement issued by the state’s Commissioner for Sports, Elder Paul Bassey, the gesture was part of Governor Eno’s commitment to rallying support for the national team. “In line with his determination and promise to mobilize support for the victory of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Governor Umo Eno has purchased 30,000 tickets for football fans,” Bassey said.

The tickets will be distributed starting from 5 pm on Monday, March 24, 2025, at various locations in Uyo, including all radio stations, De Venus Bar and Restaurant, Uyo Township Stadium, and Ibom Plaza. Fans are advised that these tickets are completely free and should not be bought from any individual.

“No persons will be permitted entry into the stadium without tickets,” Bassey warned. “Tickets will not be distributed at the stadium, and security agencies have been put on notice to ensure strict adherence to all rules.” Fans without tickets are also urged to avoid being near the stadium area.

Governor Eno’s initiative is a clear effort to energize local support and create an electric atmosphere for the Super Eagles as they continue their World Cup journey.
