Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has reiterated his commitment to ensuring fairness and equity among all religious groups in the state, emphasizing his administration’s dedication to promoting cultural heritage and peaceful coexistence.
He made this known during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Traditional Religious Worshipers Association (TWARSO) at the Governor’s office today
Adeleke highlighted the importance of fostering unity between the state government and traditional institutions.
“I will continually uphold fairness and equity among all religious groups in the state to promote peaceful coexistence, tranquility, and harmony,” Governor Adeleke assured, stressing the importance of equal treatment for all religious affiliations.
The Governor pointed to steps already taken, such as declaring Isese Day a public holiday and including traditional worshipers in the opening and closing prayers at state functions. “Let us work together to build a brighter future for our children and generation to come,” Adeleke urged, calling for continued values of tolerance and respect.
Dr. Oluseyi Atanda, the president of TWARSO, commended the Governor for fostering unity and development in Osun State under his leadership. He also expressed gratitude for Adeleke’s appointments of traditional religious worshipers as Commissioners and Special Advisers, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to religious fairness.
“At the divination of Ifa oracle in 2018, we were told that a leader who was generally underrated would bring positive development beyond expectations, and we are witnessing that today,” Dr. Atanda said, acknowledging the Governor’s unexpected successes.
The visit concluded with a special prayer for the Governor, his cabinet, and the people of Osun State.
