Governor Oborevwori Hosts Chevron Management in Asaba

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, on Tuesday welcomed the top management staff of Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), led by the Chairman/Managing Director, Jim Swartz, on a courtesy visit to the Government House in Asaba.

The visit presented an opportunity for Governor Oborevwori to acknowledge the significant role CNL has played in the socio-economic development of Delta State and Nigeria as a whole. “It is important to emphasize that Delta State is home to CNL,” the Governor remarked, highlighting the state’s central role in the oil giant’s operations.

Governor Oborevwori also reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of CNL’s staff and assets in the region. “My government is committed to ensuring the safety and security of the oil firm’s staff and assets,” he stated.

During the meeting, the Governor encouraged CNL to continue recognizing Delta State as a prime destination for investment. He also stressed the importance of involving host communities in infrastructural development and prioritizing local employment opportunities. “I urged CNL to recognize that our state is a safe and viable destination for investment,” Oborevwori emphasized.

The meeting marked another step in reinforcing the relationship between the state government and one of the key players in Nigeria’s oil industry.
