Governor Uba Sani has officially commissioned the newly upgraded pharma-grade warehouse in Kakuri, further solidifying his administration’s commitment to improving healthcare in Kaduna State. The Governor was accompanied by his Deputy, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, and other senior government officials.

This state-of-the-art warehouse, designed to protect vital pharmaceutical products, is a part of His Excellency’s ongoing efforts to make healthcare accessible to all residents of the state. The project aligns with the Federal Ministry of Health’s (FMOH) mandate, ensuring that Kaduna meets national standards for pharmaceutical storage.

The upgraded warehouse boasts a 1,600 square-meter storage area, housing cutting-edge facilities, including Quality Control, Chemistry, and Microbiology laboratories, two cold rooms, and 13 administrative offices.

Governor Sani emphasized the significance of the project, stating, “This warehouse is a critical component of our healthcare infrastructure. We are committed to ensuring that essential medicines are stored safely and efficiently, as part of our broader agenda to improve public health in Kaduna State.”

Notably, Kaduna State now holds the distinction of having the largest warehouse among the 22 states involved in the project. Alongside Nasarawa State, it is one of the few states in Nigeria to achieve “maturing ready-to-integrate” status, a pivotal step towards the integration of Public Health Products and Essential Medicines.

“This achievement will help us integrate Public Health Products and Essential Medicines more efficiently, contributing to the well-being of every resident of Kaduna,” said Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, the Deputy Governor.

This upgrade marks a major milestone in the state’s healthcare sector, setting a standard for future public health initiatives across the country.
