Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, the former Lagos State governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has officially announced his resignation from the party. Jandor made the announcement during a press briefing at Liberty Place, Ikeja, Lagos on Monday, revealing that his departure was due to indiscipline and anti-party activities within the party.

“I am here before you today with a heavy heart but a clear conscience. We have dedicated ourselves to the ideals of democracy, good governance, and a pursuit of a better Lagos,” Jandor said. “However, it has been found evident that the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, both at the national and state levels, has failed to uphold these principles.”

The ex-governorship candidate also pointed to internal sabotage and persistent anti-party activities, particularly from prominent figures like Chief Olabode George, which led him and his supporters to sever ties with the PDP.

“We will consult widely with everybody and then take the decision to collapse our structure to another platform,” he added.
