Kaduna State Govt Denies Plans To Shut Down Telecom Services In The State

The Kaduna State Government has stated that there are no plans to shutdown telecoms services in the state,

The State Government in a statement made available by Muyiwa Adekeye, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media & Communication.

 The statement said the government has not made such a decision, neither has it announced any such plans.

It also read that “the Kaduna State Government did not reach out to any federal agency to request a telecoms shutdown, and it has not in any way ordered or effected a communications shutdown.”

It further advised residents of Kaduna State to ignore fake news and rumours which some people are trying to pass off as genuine by placing KDSG logo on their false statements. It is simply not true.

Recall that the federal government following the rising cases of kidnapping in the country and the recent kidnapping of 73 students from a public school in Zamfara State ordered the total shutdown of telecommunications in the state.
