Keystone Bank Limited has made a significant contribution to Nigeria’s education sector by renovating classrooms and donating digital equipment to schools across two states.
The bank renovated a block of classrooms at the Sarki Sambo L.G.E.A Primary School in Zaria, Kaduna State, as part of its Keystone Bank Educational Support Initiative. This effort is designed to provide a more conducive learning environment for students.
Mr. Hassan Imam, Managing Director/CEO of Keystone Bank, emphasized the importance of education for national development, stating, “At Keystone Bank, we recognise that education is the foundation of a prosperous society. By investing in the renovation of schools like Sarki Sambo L.G.E.A Primary School, we are not only enhancing learning conditions for children but also contributing to the overall development of our nation.”
The Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Bamalli, also commended the bank’s efforts, praising their investment in education as crucial for shaping the region’s future.
In addition, the bank donated interactive boards and automated time attendance systems to four secondary schools in Ekiti State. These schools include Government College, Ado-Ekiti; Government College, Ikere-Ekiti; Ikogosi High School; and Paropo Grammar School in Ido-Ekiti.
Mrs. Helen Maiyegun, Directorate Head for Lagos Island and West at Keystone Bank, noted, “Through initiatives like this, we aim to empower students and educators with the tools they need to thrive in a technology-driven world.”
The Commissioner of Education in Ekiti State, Dr. Olabimpe Aderiye, expressed gratitude for the donation, highlighting how it would bridge the digital divide and enhance the learning experience for both students and teachers.
