The traditional ruler of Olu Apata in Lokoja Local Government, His Royal Highness Ambassador Fredrick Durojaiye Balogun, has appealed to Governor Usman Ododo to urgently complete the construction of a health centre and the sinking of boreholes across his domain.

The monarch emphasized that these projects are crucial for improving healthcare services and addressing the water challenges faced by the community.

“We need these developments to bring healthcare closer to our people and alleviate the hardships of those in need of health services,” said Oba Balogun.

Governor Ododo, in response, assured the monarch of his commitment to completing the ongoing projects, affirming that he holds the welfare of Apata residents close to his heart.

“We will mobilize the necessary agencies to ensure the completion of all ongoing projects in Apata,” Ododo promised.

Oba Balogun, speaking at his 10th anniversary celebration and launch of a N500 million appeal fund, highlighted several development achievements under his leadership, including the construction of a security post and a four-classroom block for L.G.E.A. Primary School.

He also praised former Governor Yahaya Bello for his contributions to the community’s growth.

Governor Ododo has been commended for his administration’s intervention, including the recent flag-off of a 19.5km road project in Apata and the provision of security support, such as patrol vans and motorcycles for local vigilantes.

“The current administration has greatly contributed to the security of our community and ensured that our people have access to essential services,” Oba Balogun remarked.

Additionally, Oba Balogun urged investors to seize the opportunities in Apata, as the community is rich in natural resources, including mineral deposits. He also assured Governor Ododo of continued support from his people for the state’s development initiatives.

Governor Ododo, represented by Kogi State Secretary to Government, Mrs. Folashade Ayoade Arike, reiterated the state’s commitment to completing all ongoing projects and praised the monarch for his dedication to the welfare of his people.

“Your leadership is an example of purposeful governance, and we will continue to partner with you for the development of the community,” the governor affirmed.

The event also saw the launch of a Development Appeal Fund and the bestowal of chieftaincy titles on individuals, including Alhaji Dauda Momoh, Managing Director of the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency, for their contributions to the community’s progress.
