Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, on Monday reshuffled his cabinet, swearing in two new commissioners and making several key appointments.
Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe was appointed Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, while Dr. Maryam Nnafatima-Imam was assigned to the Ministry of Social Development.
Governor Abdulrazaq urged the new appointees to work collaboratively and contribute to the ongoing development initiatives of the state.
“Today marks not just the beginning of a new chapter for the commissioners-designate but, expectedly, a renewed commitment to serving the people of Kwara State with dedication, integrity, and vision,” he said during the inauguration.
The reshuffle also saw former Commissioner for Education, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo-Kawu, reassigned to the Ministry of Tertiary Education, while Dr. Mary Arinde was moved to the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.
New appointments included Lafia Kora-Sabi as Commissioner for the newly created Ministry of Transportation, and Mrs. Olohuntoyosi Thomas, formerly of the Ministry of Agriculture, now heads the Ministry of Livestock Development.
Governor Abdulrazaq emphasized teamwork, stating, “Our mission is to collaborate, combining our strengths and ideas to leave Kwara far better than we met it.”
