Lagos State Deputy Governor Receives Civil Service Commission Team

Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat has underscored the importance of an effective and efficient workforce in the realization of the Greater Lagos mantra being championed by the present administration in the State.

The Deputy Governor made this assertion on Wednesday, July 17th, 2019, when he received the Chairman of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), the Commissioners, Permanent Secretary and other top echelons of the Commission during a courtesy visit to his office at Alausa, Ikeja.

He noted that the Commission’s role is very essential in the recruitment of qualified personnel who would drive the vision and mission of the state government and deliver qualitative services to the residents of the State.

While commending the CSC for sustaining the legacy of good governance in the State, Dr. Hamzat urged its leadership to be more strategic in the deployment of staff such that workers would be deployed to their areas of competence and to places where their full potentials can be realized.

The Deputy Governor urged all the Commissioners to complement the efforts of government in the area of community mobilization in their various domains by mobilizing the public to embrace the policies and programmes of the State Government.

He also implored them as community leaders in their respective areas to help champion the health insurance scheme introduced by the state government for all residents of the State as a way of reducing avoidable deaths among the populace.

Dr Hamzat assured the team of maximum support by the present administration towards the realization of the digitalization of its operations, saying that the government is committed to embracing innovations that would advance the civil service and make it even more proactive.

The Civil Service Commission delegation was led by the representative of the Chairman, Mrs Taiwo Oyemade, Commissioner I representing Badagry Division, Pastor Israel Alagbe and other Commissioners as well as the Commission’s Permanent Secretary, Mr Adeyemi Fashola.
