The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) successfully rescued seven injured passengers following a multi-vehicle collision along Sabo-Itokin Road, near Ikorodu. The accident involved two commercial buses and a Lexus 330 Jeep.
LASTMA’s General Manager, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, reported that the Lexus driver attempted to overtake another vehicle, lost control, and collided with the two buses. The driver fled the scene after the incident.
LASTMA, in collaboration with the Area N Police Division, swiftly secured the scene, managed traffic disruptions, and ensured the injured passengers were transported to the General Hospital in Ikorodu for treatment.
“We urge motorists to exercise caution, particularly when overtaking,” Bakare-Oki emphasized. “Reckless driving can have devastating consequences.”
The authority continues its commitment to road safety, reminding drivers to adhere to traffic regulations to avoid similar accidents.
